I can't quite remember what stage it was, but I remember one having a very narrow path that was just a 1 way drop that would require you to do a complete roundabout through the level just to reach that base again. This may just be me, but I was not a fan of how the stage design wasn't really altered to fit the Empires formula. I mean, DW8 Empire was still fun and all but there should have been more effort put through for it. Strategems are less interesting as they are in 7 and some of them lack the punch they need to turn the tide. They had the whole weather thing going for it but then something happens, and the weather is now only when you put an altar for the weather you want which the enemy AI never use to their advantage or anything at all. The whole Way of Life thing is pretty neat but serve little effects for the player since it affects the AI only. ![]() ![]() The fame system is replaced with a simple "Kind" and "Evil" meter. In DW8 Empire, everything just felt like a slog to play through. They also had the interesting Fame system that nets you a different ending depending on how you play. It felt like a major decisiveness that could change the outcome. In DW7E, aside from more events, the strategem was more effective in the overall battle. For me, it's the lack of content that I would expect from an Empire's game.
